There are 3 types of Cotton farming available. The Greenest is the organic cotton but it is very expensive and the common cotton is the conventional or regular farming. Under this Regular farming included GMO and /or BT Cotton, which are Genetically Modified to resist insects. But the other type of farming is the IPM-FFS farming. Our cotton comes from IPM-FFS farming in Bangladesh and India. Our Cotton is not GMO or BT neither Organic.
IPM is Integrated Pest Management and the FFS is Farmers Field School. This type of farming is considered environment friendly. Under this program use of pesticide is limited, timely and effective applications targeted at pests during their vulnerable life stage. IPM-FFS program brings down the use of pesticide at 50% and that is a significant cost saving for the farmer too. Also the product yield goes up little bit. So this type of farming became sustainable, environment friendly and cost effective for the hard working farmers. IPM helps both consumer and producer to achieve better, safer and a protected environment. IPM is a process claim rather than product claim. This program was adopted by FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation) in November 2002. IPM farming is based on scientific and biological technique. Its application became successful through the FFS (Farmers Field School). The FAO-EU IPM program for Cotton was implemented in Asia from 1999 to 2004 in 5 countries namely Bangladesh, China, India, Pakistan and Philippines to promote an ecological approach to crop production and environmental protection. IPM works better in the countries where the labor cost is not so high. Because it is more labor intensive compare to conventional cotton farming. Now in Bangladesh and India most farmers are using this program.
See more about IPM in the Fourth National IPM Symposium/ Workshop 2003,

Also See in the Leisa Magazine 2007 about how the IPM-FFS program was successful in Bangladesh.
Our cotton is farmed in Bangladesh and India under IPM-FFS farming. And our bag manufacturing plant is in Bangladesh too. These Green Bags are made by those hard working people for us. But Occidental activity is affecting their lives through climate change. We could help them through using their bags and at the same time contribute in protecting environment.
How occidental activity affects in Bangladesh:
The Independent News at UK says, Bangladesh in the Mercy of Climate Change:
We are very pleased with our AmeriGreenBags! At a very reasonable cost, we are able to promote our store with an all-cotton shopping bag which we consider to be a much better choice than the so-called non-woven bags.
